Royal Canin has Invested Rs 100 Crore in a New Plant in Maharashtra.

Royal Canin, a leading global provider of “Health Through Nutrition” solutions for cats and dogs and a part of Mars, Incorporated, has just revealed its new Packaging Center in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra.

This marks a major step in Royal Canin’s dedication to the Indian pet care market, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra in April 2023.

To ensure quality, reasonable price, and availability, Royal Canin has made a strategic investment of approximately ₹100 crore.

This investment has not only created local employment opportunities but has also enhanced the manufacturing network, enabling it to cater to the needs of millions of cats and dogs. The goal is to continuously meet the evolving demands of pet owners and professionals.

Royal Canin’s first facility in India, the Packaging Center, will present an automatic packing machine and related utilities. This setup will efficiently transform bulk products into retail packs that cater to the specific needs of Indian pet parents.

According to Cecile Coutens, Global President of Royal Canin, India is experiencing rapid growth in the care market, with a CAGR of approximately 15 percent. Pet owners are now more focused on their pets’ health and well-being, seeking top-quality nutrition and care.

Royal Canin believes that precise nutrition is important for ensuring pets’ well-being. The new Packaging Center Operations in Bhiwandi will allow Royal Canin to better assist pet owners in India, offering precise “Health Through Nutrition” solutions for their pets.

Royal Canin, New Plant in Maharashtra

“We are excited to announce that our new facility in Maharashtra is now up and running,” said Satinder Singh, General Manager of Royal Canin India. “This new setup is designed to enhance the consumer experience by allowing us to provide high-quality nutrition to even more cats and dogs. With modern facilities, our Packaging Center operations indicate our commitment to offering premium products that cater to the unique nutritional needs of pets in India.

This new facility also supports the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, contributing to the growth of the Indian economy. We are proud to expand our presence in India and remain focused on creating innovative solutions that prioritize the health and well-being of pets.”

Royal Canin is making progress toward expanding its operations in India, focusing on providing health-through nutrition solutions to a larger number of cats and dogs in the market. This strategy of feeding more pets is closely linked to sharing knowledge, providing services, and offering tools that assist pet professionals in enhancing the well-being of animals.

The company operates in over 120 countries with 16 factories, two pet centers (innovation centers), one Research & Development Center, and seven laboratories within the Mars network. The addition of the India Packaging Center as the 17th facility in the manufacturing network focuses on enhancing the supply chain within the country.
