About Role

The candidate for the position of Senior Designer, Beverage, will have the responsibility of providing comprehensive flavor and ingredient solutions to the customers in the Beverage category.

They will collaborate closely with the Commercial Team, customers, Flavorists, Food Technologists, Marketing, and Product Experience teams to transform Innovation, Consumer Insights, Market Trends, and Project Briefs into desired solutions for their customers, their brands, and their consumers.

Additionally, the candidate will assist in facilitating local and regional business initiatives. This position is based in Gurgaon, India, and will report to the Design Leader, Beverage.


B. Tech or M. Tech Degree in Food Technology or any other relevant discipline.


Minimum 10–12 years of experience handling product development in the beverage category (RTD, DPB, CSD, PSD, cordial syrup, etc.) or any similar role within Food Manufacturing, Food Ingredients, or Flavor industry.

  • To ensure the successful execution of projects, lead the implementation and commercialization of IFF Innovation in the Beverage Category for the Indian Subcontinent.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to carry out Commercial and Innovation Strategies.
  • Develop project plans and create high-quality beverage samples and flavor emulsions in alignment with internal and external customer requirements.
  • Promote and integrate new technologies within the organization.
  • Stay updated on ingredients, customer preferences, processes, and flavor interactions in relevant category applications.
  • Engage with local and regional experts to establish best practices for experimental design and formulation.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise and problem-solving skills to customers.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams as needed to accomplish job responsibilities.

Project Management

  • Work autonomously on client projects to choose and suggest suitable flavor and ingredient solutions that meet the client’s profile, legal, cost, and stability criteria within specified deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales or Marketing, Flavors, Product Experience, GRA, and other departments to assist in project implementation.
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts and other innovative initiatives.

Strategy and Business Knowledge

  • Building a network of IFF staff is important for enhancing the application and business knowledge.
  • It is important to establish strong relationships with customers and other relevant categories.
  • Additionally, it is essential to show a deep understanding of the market’s evolution and the preferences of consumers within the assigned category.

Technical and Product Management

  • Create application formulations per industry standards, specific country regulations, and customer needs.
  • Expand understanding of flavor and ingredient functionality in various applications, as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes for end products.
  • Utilize creativity and innovation to develop new concepts.
  • Offer comprehensive solutions through creative problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the team to share knowledge.

  • Familiarity with beverage ingredients, processing, and industry regulations.

  • Capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English.
