The AFDLHF has lodged a complaint with the FSSAI and FDA in Maharashtra regarding the increase in fraudulent websites taking advantage of individuals applying for food licenses. President Abhay Pandey has advised immediate action to tackle this pressing problem.
AFDLHF has discovered multiple fraudulent websites claiming to be affiliated with FSSAI and the Food Department of Maharashtra. These fraud platforms aim to copy authentic government websites, deceiving individuals and businesses seeking legitimate food licenses.
The mentioned websites are www.fssairegistration.org, www.foodlicenseportl.org, and www.foodlicenses.co.in.
These websites are highly visible in search engine results, especially on Google, which makes it simple for unaware applicants to become victims of their scams. The fraudulent organizations behind these websites frequently demand excessive fees, claiming to speed up the license application process.
As a result, they defraud applicants and undermine the trustworthiness of government regulatory procedures.
The fraudulent websites engage in unethical practices that cause great harm to the public and damage the reputation of legitimate authorities like FSSAI and the Food Department.
Those who fall victim to these scams not only suffer financial exploitation but also encounter delays and complications in acquiring their essential food licenses. This disruption in the licensing process can have far-reaching consequences for both food safety and business operations.
Pandey’s complaint calls upon the Maharashtra FDA to quickly address the fraud websites by initiating a comprehensive inquiry to uncover and dismantle them. Additionally, he requests the FDA to organize awareness campaigns to educate the public about the dangers associated with unauthorized food license service providers.
Furthermore, Pandey encourages the FDA to enhance regulatory efforts by implementing strict measures to prevent the recurrence of such fraudulent websites.
Pandey stated that the Maharashtra FDA, in collaboration with FSSAI, will quickly address the complaint. Priority will be given to shutting down the identified websites and preventing further exploitation of applicants.
Public awareness campaigns will also be essential to ensure that individuals and businesses are informed about the official channels for obtaining food licenses.
He highlighted that the AFDLHF’s proactive approach to this issue highlights the importance of being alert and implementing strict regulatory oversight in the digital era. It is important to uphold the integrity of the food licensing process in order to preserve public trust and protect food safety standards.
