TTD Makes Mandatory for all Hotels in Tirumala to obtain Food Safety Certificate

has made it mandatory for all hotels in Tirumala to obtain a food safety certification from the Food Safety department for continuing their operations.

Syamala Rao underlined during a press conference on Friday in Tirumala that certification will only be granted by the authorities if they have confirmed that all food outlets adhere to safety and quality criteria.

Speaking to reporters after Friday’s Dial Your EO program here, Rao acknowledge that Tirumala’s hotels and fast-food restaurants have an obligation to serve hygienic, high-quality, and delectable cuisine to the pilgrims who travel great distances to receive Srivari’s darshan.

He said the Food Safety department will soon train hotel staff on hygienic cooking practices to be followed at eateries.

Later, he while briefing the media about the pilgrim details in July month alone, said that more than 22 lakh pilgrims had darshan. During the month, the hundi Collection was Rs.125.35 crore. and sold 1.04 crore Srivari laddus, he added.

Outlining the ongoing arrangements for the forthcoming Srivari Brahmotsavam, which is slated to take place from October 4 to October 12, the TTD EO stated that in order to guarantee a seamless experience for devotees, devasthanam officials have been asked to finish all arrangements by the end of September.

“Three officers have been assigned to oversee provision of amenities to pilgrims in the queue lines. Measures have been initiated to eliminate brokers, improve Srivari laddu quality, and strengthen TTD’s IT network,” he stated.

Earlier, during the “Dial Your EO” programme, Syamala Rao attended to 33 calls from pilgrims.

The EO gave callers the assurance that the relevant agencies would consider their suggestions and make the necessary decisions.

Also, The TTD executive officer (EO) J Syamala Rao has decided to take the assistance of FSSAI to check the quality of ingredients being used in making Prasadams and Annaprasadams and procurement of raw materials.
