About the Programme

The objective of AICTE’s Training and Learning (ATAL) is to impart quality training through Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs)
for Postgraduate students, Research scholars and Faculty members so that they have a sound domain knowledge and associated skills
set to apply in real life with industry connect.

Despite relatively low awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among the general population, many consumers are
increasingly interested in sustainable and ethically sourced food and drink products, and manufacturers are catering to the demand. The food system is composed of sub-systems and
interacts with other key systems. Therefore, a structural change in the food system might originate from a change in another system;
for example, a policy promoting more biofuel in the energy system will have a significant impact on the food system. A sustainable
food system (SFS) is a food system that delivers food security and nutrition for all in such a way that the economic, social and environmental bases to generate food security and nutrition for future generations are not compromised. About NIFTEM

The National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T) is an Institute of National
Importance under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. NIFTEM-T, located at Pudukkottai Road, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu – 613005 with its modern laboratories equipped with hi-tech instruments, is engaged in the R&D of food
