Snacks Served Without Proper Labelling In FSSAI Event

An event organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in Tamil Nadu raised eyebrows after packaged snacks lacked crucial information on the packets. These snacks, meant for the guests, did not mention the manufacturing date, packing details, or expiry date, leading participants to question the organization’s own adherence to the standards it promotes.

Prepacked, ready to eat cashew pakora and Kajukatli, prepared by the Aroma Bakery served to guests but the packets without detail according to FSSAI labelling and display regulations. This event took place on Sunday where PM Narendra Modi inaugurated FSSAI’s advanced lab on racecourse road.

The Coimbatore district food safety department designated officer Dr. Tamil Selvan told after enquired about it, the food packets distributed during event contained RTE snacks and they mentioned that they specifically instructed the shop to ensure that the food was brought in clean containers and distributed to the people.

But the manufacturing and expiry date were not printed on the packets. it is important to note that there should be no room for controversy regarding this matter.
