PepsiCo India to Invest Rs, 1266 Crore for Flavor Manufacturing Plant in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. According to the company’s statement, the plant will have a major impact on expanding PepsiCo’s beverage production in India, creating job opportunities, and promoting economic growth in the local community.
Covering an expansive 9 hectares, the upcoming facility will produce beverage flavors specifically modified for the Indian market. Construction on the Ujjain plant is set to commence in 2024, with a projected completion date in the first quarter of 2026.
PepsiCo India’s second flavor manufacturing facility in the country, in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, will produce the beverage flavor ‘In India, for India’.
This state-of-the-art facility shows PepsiCo’s dedication to expanding its business operations in India and demonstrates its commitment to positively impacting the diverse communities it serves. By PepsiCo’s ‘Winning with pep+’ (PepsiCo Positive) approach to sustainable growth, the plant will incorporate advanced technologies to promote efficient water usage and replacement, thereby establishing new industry benchmarks for environmentally aware operations.

PepsiCo’s first flavor production facility in India is situated in Channo, Punjab. The establishment of a second plant is part of the company’s strategic objective to strengthen its flavor manufacturing presence in India and contribute positively to the socio-economic landscape of the region.
PepsiCo India’s manufacturing facility will range with the company’s global sustainability objectives by running solely on renewable energy sources, resulting in a significant daily reduction of 1.9 metric tons in carbon footprint.
Through the implementation of Zero Liquid Discharge technology, the plant is committed to attaining around 90% overall water efficiency, demonstrating responsible water resource management, and refilling all water consumed on-site.
