Important Introductions

1 The candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. The nature of engagement is purely on a contractual and temporary basis for a period
one year only. The engagement may be renewed/extended further as per the functional
requirement of the Institute

3. This engagement does not confer any right on the applicant to claim either continuous
employment or permanency in future.

4. The consolidated fixed remuneration of Rs. 80,000/- per month shall be paid for the
assignment for being on active duty.

5. Selected candidates will have to work for six days in a week except second Saturday
and Government holidays.

6. The candidates must apply through online in the application form available in the
Institute website and required application fee of Rs.500/- has to be
paid through SBI Collect available in the Institute’s web-site:

SC/ST/PwD and Women candidates are exempted from payment of Application fee.

The off-line application sent directly to the Institute will not be considered.

7. The candidate must upload soft copies of all certificates and relevant documents in
support of their claim in the online application form wherever necessary. Candidates
must upload the first page of all publications listed in online application, failing which
such publications will not be considered for score calculation. Hence, candidates are
advised to prepare the PDF files of each of the required documents before starting the
online application process.

8. Candidates are advised to fill each and every column of the application form carefully.
Incomplete applications are liable to be summarily rejected.

9. After successful submission of online application, the candidates are instructed to sign
the hardcopy of downloaded application. The signed application form, self-attested
copies of supporting documents and copy of e-receipt generated in SBI collect are
required to be scanned in a single PDF file.

The scanned PDF file has to be sent to the mail id: within THREE days from the last date of online submission of application.

10. All communications, in respect of applications for recruitment against the posts
advertised by the NIFTEM-T, should be addressed to The Registrar, National Institute
of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T),
Pudukkottai Road, Thanjavur – 613 005, Tamil Nadu.

11. Valid Personal email ID and mobile number furnished at the time of filling online
application should be kept active during the process of recruitment for further
communications. The call letters to the shortlisted candidates for the interview will be
sent by NIFTEM-T through the registered email ID.

12. Eligible and shortlisted Candidates are required to bring hard copies of all publications
along with hard copy of the application form at the time of interview without fail.

13. Candidates must bring all original Degree Certificates, Mark Sheets, Certificates
relating to Age, Category, Experience, etc. at the time of interview. In case, any
candidate fails to submit the original certificates/documents for verification, he/ she
shall not be allowed to appear for the interview Board.

14. The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and possessing of same does not
entitle candidates to be called for interview. The cut-off date for determining the
eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the closing date of online

15. The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility conditions for the post. It is
the responsibility of the candidate to assess his/her eligibility for the post for which
he/she is applying in accordance with the prescribed qualification, experience, etc.

16. Candidates with requisite qualifications and experience acquired from recognized
University/Institutions need only apply. Candidates who have obtained degrees from
any Institution declared as fake/derecognized by the UGC/or any other Statutory Bodies
shall not be eligible for being considered for recruitment to the posts advertised.

17. The time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and / or Ph.D. degree shall not be
considered as teaching/ research experience to be claimed for appointment to the
teaching positions.

18. The applicants/candidates who qualify on screening of applications as per Score Card
System adopted by the NIFTEM-T for assessing relative merit of candidates on the
basis of educational qualifications, experience, research work, publications, awards,
etc. will only be called for interview. Hence, the candidates are advised to fill up the
application form carefully and each and every column of application should be filled
up accurately because marks will be awarded on the basis of information in each
column and supporting documents submitted by the individual.

19. Matriculation/Secondary School/Higher Secondary School passing certificate issued by
the concerned educational board will be considered as proof of date of birth. No other
document will be accepted for verification of date of birth.

20. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.

21. Suppression of factual information, production of fake documents, providing false or
misleading information or any other undesirable action by the candidate shall lead to
cancellation of his/her candidature. In case, it is detected at any point of time at later stage even after engagement that the candidate was not eligible as per the prescribed qualification, experience, etc. which could not be detected at the time of interview due
to whatever circumstances, his/her engagement shall be liable for termination forthwith
without any notice.

22. The decision of the NIFTEM-T with regard to the eligibility or otherwise of any
candidate based upon evaluation of the application and particulars/records submitted
with the application by the candidate shall be final, and the NIFTEM-T will not enter
any correspondence in this regard with the unsuccessful candidates.

23. Short-listed applicants/candidates alone will be called for the written examination
followed by personal interview and it will be conducted in person only at NIFTEM
– Thanjavur main campus. Any request for an online written test and interview
will not be considered by the institute.

24. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final.

25. NIFTEM-T will not correspond with the applicants/candidates those who are not
shortlisted for the interview. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

26. Any changes/corrigendum/amendments/updation/cancellation notice related to the
recruitment process shall be published on an official website of NIFTEM-T
(, candidates are advised to check the Institute Website

27. The selected candidates will be required to join immediately and are required to be
present physically at the station of posting at the time of Joining

28. The selected candidates shall have to make own arrangements of stay of their own.

29. The Institute reserves the right to select or reject a candidate without assigning any
reason/s thereof.

30. The selected candidates are required to give a minimum of one month’s prior notice to
cease the contract/relive from the institute.

31. The selected candidate engagement can be terminated without prior notice and without
providing any reason for it by NIFTEM-T. However, the contract can be terminated at any time
by either party by giving one month’s notice. However, the Institute can relieve you
immediately after payment of one-month remuneration in lieu of notice period.

32. The Institute reserves the right to Revise / Reschedule / withdraw the recruitment
process without assigning any reason. The decision of the Institute shall be final and no
appeal in this regard shall be entertained.

33. The institute reserves the right to place a reasonable limit on the total number of
candidates to be called for the interview. Mere fulfilment of qualification per-se does
not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview.

34. In case any candidate found is ineligible on any ground even after his/her Engagement,
his/her engagement will be terminated immediately without assigning any reason
