McDonald Uses Real Cheese Confirmed by FSSAI

McDonald  uses 100% real cheese, the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has officially verified, as stated by Westlife Foodworld in a notification to the stock exchange on Tuesday.

The company stated that the verification validates the brand’s claim of utilizing 100% Real Cheese without any cheese analogs or substitutes in its products.

In addition to this, McDonald’s India (South & West) has recently obtained the test results from, NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories). These results further validate the fact that 100% Real Cheese is consistently used in all of their products.

Westlife Foodworld is the largest franchisee of McDonald’s restaurants in the Western and Southern regions of the country. with a presence in 62 cities across Telangana, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Puducherry, it oversees approximately 380 units.

In a statement, Saurabh Karla, Managing Director of McDonald’s India (West & South), emphasized that our products are made with authentic, high-quality ingredients and have been given a clean chit by FSSAI, India’s top food safety regulator. This endorsement confirms that our products are made with 100% real cheese and that we do not compromise quality.

The company has stated that it procures ingredients from suppliers that are recognized and approved and uphold the utmost standard of food quality. All suppliers undergo thorough product testing twice annually by independent NABL-accredited food testing laboratories to guarantee customer satisfaction.

During the December quarter, the Food & Drugs Administration (FDA) of Maharashtra took action by suspending the license of the McDonald’s branch located in Ahmednagar. This decision was made due to the allegation that the McCheese burger offered by the chain does not meet the local food standards. Additionally, it was discovered that the menu listed several items containing cheese substitutes without appropriate labeling.
