Marigold And Sonoco Partner To Launch Eco-friendly Paper Packaging.

Marigold Health Foods has partnered with Sonoco in order to introduce its totally recyclable packaging for a range of natural, plant-based food products—such as stock cubes, sauces, and meat and fish substitutes.

Customers may easily recycle the packaging via curbside pickup after consumption due to this user-friendly solution, which promotes environmental sustainability.

The EnviroCan paper bottom, which offers vital oxygen and moisture barriers to guarantee food safety and prolong shelf life, is the foundation of the innovative package design.

Composition of New Marigold Packaging

The can body composed of 95% paper and 60% post-consumer recycled fiber, with the majority of resources coming from recycled sources.

An inner liner keeps the remaining 5% of the container intact by protecting the goods.

The majority of UK shops carry the new packaging, which is recyclable in the country’s paper waste stream.

In order to assist UK consumers in properly recycling their packaging, it also features the most recent OPRL recycling logo.

It took two years to design this next-generation packaging.

Advantage of New Packaging

Previously, Marigold’s packaging consisted of a cardboard body with a metal base, which posed recycling challenges.

The EnviroCan Paper Bottom acts as an oxygen and moisture barrier to guarantee food safety and best-in-class shelf-life performance.

According to Marigold, the new design has decreased package weight by more than 20%, which has resulted in a reduction of fuel used during transportation.

The solution, which is made from recyclable materials that are supplied sustainably, has a smaller environmental impact than other rigid packaging forms, according to the company.
