Free Internship Opportunity in National Institute of Technology Rourkela

Are you a graduate student in the field of Food Process Engineering looking for an opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge? The Department of Food Process Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela has announced a new internship program, supported by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Government of India.

The Training and Skill Internship program, Accelerate Vigyan & Vritika, is a four-week training program designed to provide hands-on experience in the development of medicinally fortified honey powder. The program is open to M.Tech, M.Sc, and Ph.D. students in relevant areas of specialization, and there are only five limited seats available. The selected candidates will receive lodging (as per availability) and food but no stipend will be provided.

Eligibility and Application Process

To apply for the program, interested candidates must visit the National Institute of Technology Rourkela and fill out the registration form by 5 May 2023. Only M.Tech, M.Sc, and Ph.D. students in relevant areas of specialization are eligible to apply. Applicants must produce a “No Objection Certificate (NOC)” from their institute for participation in the internship.

Training Program Details

The internship program will run from 15 May 2023 to 30 June 2023, and the tentative training period is four weeks. The program will be led by the experienced and knowledgeable Instructor, Prof. Winny Routray, from the Department of Food Process Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela.

The training program will cover the development of medicinally fortified honey powder, a product that has gained popularity due to its potential health benefits. The program will provide an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the development of the product, including its formulation, processing, and packaging.

Important Information

The internship program is free of cost, and there is no registration fee. Selected candidates will receive lodging (as per availability) and food but no stipend will be provided. Upon completion of the program, a certificate will be issued to the candidates.
