The Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) is an Indian defense laboratory of the Defence Research And Development Organisation (DRDO). Located in Mysore, Karnataka, it conducts research and development of technologies and products in the area of food science and technology to cater the varied food challenges for the Indian Armed Forces. DFRL is organized under the Life Sciences Directorate of DRDO. The present director of DFRL is Dr. A D Semwal. The Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) came into being on 28th December 1961 under the aegis of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, at Mysore primarily to cater to the varied food challenges of the Indian Army, Navy, Airforce and other paramilitary forces.

DFRL is offering internship to B.tech in Food Tech / Food Processing/ BSc in Food Science students.

Important Points

1. Candidates must have registered their names at www.mhrdnats.gov.in & non-registered candidates are likely to be rejected.
2. The fresh pass out candidates ( passing their B.E/ B.Tech / Diploma courses in 2021) only can apply. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination earlier than 2020 are not eligible. Candidates with post graduation are NOT eligible to apply.
3. Those candidates who have completed the qualifying examinations (Graduate- + 2 / PU II + 3 Years in science stream & 4 years in engineering stream: Diploma- SSLC/ + 2 PU II + 3 Years in diploma stream ) as regular candidates are only eligible to apply.
4. Graduate degree holders who had training or job experience for the period of 1 year or more after attaining the essential qualifications are NOT eligible for being engaged as an apprentice under the act.
5. The period of training will 12 months commencing from the execution of the contract of apprenticeship.
6. Selected candidates have to submit a ” Medical Fitness Certificate” at the time of joining. They should make their own arrangement for stay & transportation in Mysore.
7. The selected candidates must execute the contract for a period of one year of training as per the provision of the apprentices act 1961 & rules framed under there.
8. It shall not be obligatory on the part of the Defence Food Research Laboratory, where training is imparted, to offer any employment to any apprentice after completion of the period of his/her apprenticeship training. 
9. The apprentices will not be provided any quaters/hostel accommodations/transport by this establishment at the time of joining & also during the training period.
10. Do not fill the application form in hand writing.

3. Candidates are advised to retain a copy of the completed application .
4. Application received from an e-mail only shall be considered.
5. Last date of receipt of an application by an e-mail is on 30th September 2022. 

SELECTION PROCEDURE

1. Candidates will be shortlisted and selected based on their marks secured in Graduation/Diploma.
2. Selected candidates will be intimated through offer letter/mail ID provided in the bio-data.
