Food Technologist job in Mumbai – New Product Development

TRUGUD FOODS is hiring Food Technologist in Mumbai. TRUGUD FOODS PRIVATE LIMITED is a millet based startup for kids working out of Mumbai, looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic food technologist to join our company for new product development.

The company has yet to launch products and is currently in the R&D stage. This startup will be catering to kids and manufacturing healthy food for them on an ongoing basis.

  • Salary : 20000 per month
  • Job Location :  Kandivali East, Lokhandwala, Mumbai

Roles and responsibilities 

1. Generating Fresh Recipe and Product Ideas keeping in mind their physical, chemical and biological properties

2. Formulate product refinements based on sensory testing and consumer data.

3. Adapting and Enhancing Current Recipes both in terms of their nutritional profile and shelf life

4. Ensure quality and safety of food products, finding substitutes for harmful ingredients

5. Refine recipe formulation for mass production purposes

6. Evaluate products’ characteristics and shelf life for implications on quality

7. Document and summarize experimental data for review

8. Ensuring that strict hygiene standards are met and ensuring that food-processing areas comply with government regulations and meet standards for sanitation and waste management

9. Keeping an Eye on the use of Additives, Testing and Analyzing Samples, and Writing Reports

10. Collaborate with food production staff for quality, safety, labelling, production, handling, and distribution of food products

11. Research products, markets, and technology to improve existing brand/product offering

12. Develop specifications for product production labelling

13. Compile cost analysis information

14. Maintain accurate records to ensure smooth start-up for new product production processes


1. Should have passed 10+2 with PCMB (Physics,Chemistry,Maths,Biology)as major subjects

2. Should be a BTech in Food technology and MTech would be a plus

3. Should have atleast 3 years of experience in a food technology or product development role, preferably in the Non-beverage FMCG industry.

4. Experience with sensory evaluation and product testing protocols.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
