Coca-Cola, a well-known beverage company, is planning to increase its production capacity by building a new plant in the Peddapalli district of Telangana.
The company will invest Rs 700 crore in this greenfield project. The plant will be set up by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the company’s fully-owned bottling arm, which has already selected suitable locations for the facility.
Minister for IT, Industries & Commerce, D. Sridhar Babu, and Minister for R&B and Cinematography, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, along with Special Chief Secretary, IT and Industries & Commerce, Jayesh Ranjan, and other officials, visited the company’s headquarters in Atlanta, US. They met with senior company executives, including Jonathan Reif, Head of fiscal policy.
According to Sridhar Babu, Minister of Industries and Commerce, this decision signifies a major change in the location of new large-scale manufacturing facilities by multinational corporations. These facilities will now be established in the state’s middle instead of Hyderabad. This shift aligns with the new government’s focus on promoting industrial growth across different regions of the state.
The leadership of Coca-Cola has confirmed that they will be setting up their new plant in the Peddapalle district, where the company has already identified potential locations for the facility.
Official sources have confirmed that the Telangana commission suggested establishing a Coca-Cola Technology Global Capability Center in Hyderabad as a key component of their IT strategy.
