Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Execution
- Ensure that online product quality monitoring is conducted, and immediate action is taken by production officers and CP management to address any error.
- Ensure that finished goods are tested according to standard sampling and testing methods, with proper documentation.
- Participate in product quality exercises regularly.
- Periodically verify process records, incoming quality check records, ingredient shelf-life records, and in-process quality check records.
- Regularly verify the correct functioning of critical process equipment such as weighing balances, metal detectors, sifters, dividers, molders, ovens, slicers, and coders.
- Ensure that basic hygiene, food safety, and GMP requirements are followed in manufacturing.
- Ensure that critical food safety processes are followed at all times during manufacturing, including metal detection, pest control, and conveyor operation.
- Conduct training sessions for workers to raise awareness of quality standards, GMP, food safety, and hygiene.
- Regularly audit systems, processes, and the lab to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
- Take immediate and appropriate action against issues related to process/system/norm disregard, equipment defects, quality monitoring, food safety, and hygiene to prevent any negative impact on consumers and brand value.
Statutory Compliance
- Please ensure that wrappers are thoroughly checked for correct addresses, MRP, veg logo, mandatory declarations, and necessary documentation.
- Make sure that sufficient samples are weighed at every stage of production.
- Take immediate action to correct any disregards before continuing the process.
- Regularly verify compliance with pack weights through random sampling.
- Do not release any lots with underweight packs without 100% checking and sorting.
- Ensure that the developer is functioning properly and that printing on each pack is legible across all SKUs.
- Follow the necessary systems when there are changes in date, shift, or supervisor’s name, and document these changes.
- Verify compliance with coding through random sampling.
- Calibrate all weighing balances and dead weights according to schedule and do not use them without necessary certification.
- For consumer complaints, directly share each complaint with CP management, supervisors, operators, and shop floor workers.
- Identify the probable causes of the complaint, even if samples are not available, in consultation with CP management, supervisors, operators, and workers.
- Assist in designing corrective and preventive measures with the team and implement them immediately.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the actions taken by evaluating the process, product, and trends of similar complaints in subsequent months.
- Analyze all registered complaints in terms of category, SKU, extent, trend, etc., and regularly share this information with CP management to demonstrate the status of improvement and develop further action plans.
Benchmarking
- Weekly visits to retail outlets and distribution points to understand customer and consumer quality concerns
- Assess competition products in terms of weight, packaging, and quality features
- Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with operations and quality teams to develop action plans
- Evaluate the effectiveness of improvements through market research and customer feedback
- Initiate process improvement projects by identifying and prioritizing opportunities in systems, processes, costs, and time
- Regularly review and enhance the quality of processes and systems at the factory
- Provide quality performance reports to the quality manager and communicate any critical quality or food safety issues directly.
Required Skills
Understanding of quality management tools, concepts, and methodologies.
Proficiency in using software to analyze statistical data.
Strong discussion skills and a customer-focused mindset.
