Amul, a well-known dairy brand with the tagline ‘Taste of India’, has recently introduced its fresh milk products to the global market for the first time, specifically targeting consumers in the United States.
I am very glad to announce that Amul will soon introduce its range of fresh milk products in the United States of America. It brings me great joy to share that we have partnered with the Michigan Milk Producer Association, a reputable 108-year-old dairy cooperative in the US. This significant announcement was made during their annual meeting on March 20 in Detroit, stated Jayen Mehta, the Managing Director of Gujrat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the organization behind Amul.
Mehta informed ANI that Amul’s fresh product range will be introduced in a market like the United States, where there is a significant presence of Indian and Asian communities.
Additionally, he stated that Amul is aiming to grow the brand and become the leading dairy company, aligning with the vision set forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his presence at its golden jubilee festivities.
Amul exports its products to over 50 countries globally. The company is supported by 18,000 milk cooperative committees and a network of 36,000 farmers, enabling it to process more than 3.5 crores of milk daily.
Amul has introduced its selection of fresh milk in the United States, offering one-gallon and half-gallon sizes under the familiar brand names and compositions that are well known in India- Amul gold (6% milk fat), Amul Shakti (4.5% milk fat), Amul Taza (3% milk fat), And Amul slim n Trim (2% milk fat). These different options will be sold at leading Indian grocery stores across the East Coast and Midwest regions of the US.

The development of the dairy industry in India, along with the significant contribution of dairy cooperatives following the initiation of the flood, is a crucial component of the nation’s economic progress, leading to India becoming the top milk producer globally.
It should be highlighted that in the 1950s and 1960s, India’s dairy industry was significantly different in states, being a milk-deficient country that relied on heavily important. But now India contributes about 21 percent to global milk production.
