CSIR- CSIO is filling up of temporary positions and preparing a waitlisted panel for future requirements against sponsored R&D projects. Last date for submitting the application is 14 August 2024.

Essential Qualification

(i) B.E. /B.Tech/M.Sc. in Food Science and Technology/ Food Engineering/ Food Processing Technology / Food and Nutrition/ Food Biotechnology/ Biotechnology / Nanotechnology /Chemistry /Microbiology or equivalent from a recognized university.
(ii) 2 years of experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organization and Scientific activities and services.

Stipend

(i) Rs. 35000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through
(a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIRUGC NET including lectureship or GATE OR
(b) A selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Government Department and their Agencies and institutions.

OR
(ii) 28,000/- + HRA for those who do not fall under (i) above.

Age Limit

Upper age limit as on last date of applications is 35 years.

Experience

Experience shall be counted after obtaining the minimum prescribed qualification.

Desirable

• Strong background of design of experiments (DoE), chemical analysis, theoretical calculations, problem formulation and solving skills, data analysis & interpretation.
• Expertise in characterization instruments and techniques such as Texture Analyser, Rheometer, Surface tensiometer, Droplet size analyser, O2/CO2 respiration analyser, colour analysis etc.
• Candidates with good academic records and GATE/NET qualified candidates will be preferred.

Note

• The performance of the candidates selected against all the above-mentioned positions will be reviewed at regular intervals (3/6 months etc.) and based on the performance as per the project mandate, further extension (if applicable) will be provided from time to time.
• The candidates who have already served CSIR-CSIO or any other lab / institute of CSIR as any Project Assistant / Project Fellow / JRF (in contract R&D projects) / SRF (in contract R&D projects)/ Research Associate etc. for a total period of 5 years or more are not eligible for these engagements.
• Medical Facilities for self will be provided through CSIR-CSIO Dispensary only to the extent available as per rules.
• Reservation: As regards reservation, if all things are equal, SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates may be given preference over General candidates so as to ensure their representation.
• The selected candidates are expected to join within fifteen days from the date of receiving offer of appointment.
• CSIR-CSIO reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the award in case of any discrepancy found, in the candidature of any selected candidate at any stage.
• No TA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
• All the above positions in CSIR-CSIO are purely temporary contractual engagement co-terminus with the projects.

• Engagement will be purely on contract/temporary basis and co-terminus with the completion of the project.
