Lulu Group International, a leading retailer headquartered in Abu Dhabi, is well-known for its extensive network of shopping malls, hypermarkets, and food processing centers in the Middle East, Far East, and Africa.
The company is now launching a logistics and food processing Center in Amritsar, Punjab. It is an important contribution to promoting Indian agricultural products in international markets.
The Amritsar facility will contribute to the varied Indian food options on the counter, following a full display of Indian products at all hypermarkets.
In India, the Group operates logistics and procurement centers in various states, exporting over Rs 10,000 crore worth of more than 45,000 MT of agricultural and other products annually. These exports are essential to supply all 270 retail stores.
The company stated that their partnership is a crucial platform for increasing the visibility and accessibility of Indian agricultural products in global markets, leading to more trade opportunities and economic growth.
Director Salim MA stated that Amritsar is famous for its dynamic business environment and growing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The city will now be included in our efforts to source local products, which will greatly benefit SMEs, local farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and farmer’s producer organizations.
Additionally, our Group plans to establish a logistics and food processing center in Amritsar for the storage, processing, grading, and packaging of various local agricultural and other goods. This initiative aims to support the local agricultural community and SMEs by providing them with a dedicated market and increased revenue and creating numerous job opportunities in the State.
Conversations have occurred with Taranjit Sandhu. A group delegation will soon travel to Amritsar to engage in discussions with SMEs and other suppliers to set the collaboration as soon as possible.
