NIFTEM’s upcoming workshop on microbiological and molecular techniques for the identification of food-borne microorganisms. The event is intended for the Abhyaas Mission scheme of Accelerate Vigyan, SERB, and will be conducted in the offline mode from 22nd to 28th June 2023 at NIFTEM-T, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu -613005.
Workshop Details
- In this workshop, participants will receive hands-on training on sample collection and advanced microbiological and molecular techniques for the identification of foodborne, zoonotic, and ABR (Antibiotic-resistant) microorganisms.
- The workshop is sponsored by SERB – Accelerate Vigyan – High-End Workshop and is registered under the code Karyashala – AV / KAR / 2022 / 00726 with the date 12.04.2023.

The workshop will be held from 22nd June 2023 to 28th June 2023 at NIFTEM-T, Thanjavur-613005.
Application and Eligibility
- The workshop is open to post-graduate and Ph.D. level students who are pursuing their Masters’s or Ph.D. degrees from a recognized university/institution and working in the relevant area of specialization.
- To be eligible, applicants must have a good academic record and experience in the relevant areas of specialization.
- Applicants must also produce a ‘Recommendation Letter cum No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ from their Supervisor/Head of the Department/Head of the Institute.
Registration Details:
- Applicants must fill out the Google form and submit the requested details and supporting documents, including the NOC letter, by May 22, 2023.
- The workshop is open only to post-graduate and Ph.D. level students working in the relevant area of specialization.
- The selection of candidates will be done based on the recommendations of the duly constituted Selection Committee.
- Only selected candidates will be informed by email, so it’s important to provide a valid email address during the online registration process.
🎖️ Summer Internship
- The selected candidates will have to acknowledge and accept the offer for participating in the workshop through a return email; otherwise, the waitlisted candidates may be called.
- Hostel accommodation with catering facilities and travel allowance may be provided to the candidates.
- The candidates will be given tasks/assignments to work on and prepare a report to be submitted.
- A certificate will be issued after successful completion of the program.
