The “Swiggy Seal” initiative was introduced by online meal delivery service Swiggy on Wednesday in an effort to raise the standard for food quality and cleanliness among its restaurant partners.
The project, which is now in operation in Pune, will gradually spread to more than 650 Indian towns by November. “Trust ke binna kuchh nahi hai.”
The CEO food marketplace, Rohit Kapoor, described this new function on his official LinkedIn profile.
What is the Swiggy Seal?
The ‘Swiggy Seal’ is awarded to restaurants that meet strict criteria for food safety and hygiene. The company claims that the award is chosen based on real customer feedback.
The seal will try to highlight some of the current issues with the food-delivering ecosystem.
The blue “Swiggy Seal” icon appears over the restaurant’s name when you place an order via the app.
Restaurants with a track record of providing clean, superior meals in upscale packaging are highlighted by the Swiggy Seal. According to the company, it would focus on crucial areas like:
• Preventing contamination;
• Improving packaging quality;
• Proper cooking techniques
How it works?
Only genuine consumer feedback and remarks from more than 7 million verified customer reviews over the last six months are used to give this badge.
If there are any complaints about a restaurant that has the Seal, the company will look over the feedback and may take away the badge if the establishment doesn’t uphold the requirements.
Impact of Improved Practices
In order to improve processes and customer experience, Swiggy says its restaurant partners will have access to detailed reviews and feedback from verified customers.
Focusing important areas such as preventing contamination, cooking at the ideal temperature, and packing quality.
Furthermore, the company will help restaurants meet hygienic standards by offering specialized account managers and systematic reports.
