Swiggy Introduces Toing App for Low Cost Meals in Pune

Swiggy has launched a new app called Toing, focused on affordable food delivery. The move comes as competition heats up with Zepto Cafe and Rapido’s Ownly. Orders on Toing are priced between ₹100 and ₹150, targeting customers who want filling but low cost meals.

Unlike Swiggy’s usual practice of testing products in Bengaluru first, Toing is being rolled out in Pune. The reason: Pune has a large population of students and young professionals with limited disposable income. Bengaluru, according to Swiggy, is already a well established market. For now, there are no immediate plans to expand Toing beyond Pune.

What’s on the Menu?

Toing’s offerings will be mini meals, burgers, sandwiches, cakes, and desserts designed for one person, suitable for quick desk lunches. It does not include snacks, which are already covered under Swiggy’s other app, Snacc.

How Toing Differs from Other Swiggy Apps

₹99 Store: Lists affordable meal deals on the main Swiggy app.
Snacc: Provides quick, “canteen-like” options delivered in 10 minutes.
Toing: Focuses on small but proper meals in the ₹100–150 range.

Toing also stands out with a green and pink color scheme, replacing Swiggy’s usual orange branding to appeal to younger users.

Competition with Zepto and Rapido

Toing will directly compete with Zepto Cafe, which sells single serving meals, drinks, and sandwiches through cloud kitchens. Unlike Zepto, Toing sources food directly from restaurants, not delivery only kitchens.

The timing is significant because Swiggy is reportedly planning to sell its ₹2,500 crore stake in Rapido, which operates Ownly a rival low cost food option. Swiggy’s co-founder and CEO, Sriharsha Majety, has said the company’s new launches are aimed at ensuring competitors don’t gain an easy lead.
