Qualification
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
They should have experience in food product development, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
A strong understanding of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and formulation principles is required.
Additionally, candidates should have practical knowledge of food processing techniques, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices is essential.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
Effective communication and presentation skills are necessary, as the candidate will be expected to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
New Product Development
- Lead and contribute to the creation of new food products, such as snacks, beverages, and packaged foods, from initial idea to market launch.
- Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to drive product innovation.
- Work with various teams, including R&D, marketing, quality assurance, and manufacturing, to develop innovative product concepts based on consumer insights and market trends.
- Create product recipes and samples that balance taste, texture, nutrition, and cost-effectiveness while meeting food safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct sensory tests, shelf-life studies, and product stability tests to ensure product quality and performance during development.
Recipe Formulation and Ingredient Selection
- Source and evaluate raw materials, ingredients, and flavorings for potential use in new product recipes, taking into account quality, functionality, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to discover and approve new ingredients and technologies that improve product quality, taste, and nutritional benefits.
Quality and Regulatory Compliance
- Guarantee compliance with food safety regulations, labeling standards, and industry guidelines during product development.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to perform risk assessments, HACCP evaluations, and allergen analyses to minimize food safety hazards and maintain product safety and quality.
Project Management
- Create project schedules, goals, and outcomes for the development of new products, organizing tasks and resources to achieve project goals within designated timeframes and budgets.
- Share updates, difficulties, and suggestions with stakeholders through frequent updates, presentations, and technical reports.
