JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POSITION OF QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
Company is looking for a seasoned professional as a Quality Assurance Manager with strong, proven experience in establishing and maintaining quality management systems, protocols, and quality tools in the food/nutraceutical industry to manage and implement quality assurance goals and objectives so that the finished products cater to customer satisfaction with respect to consistent product quality and comply with regulatory requirements. The candidate should possess a strong knowledge of the food industry trends and be able to identify and eliminate potential risks and ensure the successful execution of projects.
Duties & responsibilities
Assess raw materials and finished products and ensure that they meet the company’s requirements and compliance standards.
Develop, implement, and manage safety processes to ensure that the products are safe to use and conform to specifications for quality, function, and reliability.
Monitor risk-management procedures and maintain and analyze problems and report recurring issues to management and compile quality information for management review.
Identify errors or non-conformances that impact the quality, inspect procedures, analyze data, and make plans to improve product quality
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, environmental standards, and recommend process improvements
Develop a software cycle for assuring the quality of every product or service
Improve on the existing standards and introduce approaches into processes for consistent product quality
Develop quality control policies and standards for the company and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products
Conduct in-house audits of product inventory and documentation and check for proper labelling of all raw materials and products
Investigate and handle customer complaints and production issues and develop strategies to improve product quality
Establish strategies to improve efficiency and production of high-quality goods and ensure that high standards are maintained throughout the process
Have experience with quality management systems, GMP, GHP, HACCP, and FSMS
Be adept at data reporting, measuring, calibrating, and calculating specifications
Work towards improving the organization’s efficiency and profits by reducing wastes.
Meet with legal team to address any recalls
Participate in meetings within an organization.
Attend conferences or seminars related to their field of expertise.
Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections
Other related tasks
Job requirements:
Strong analytic, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and achieve deadlines
Proven experience in a relevant role
A strong sense of creativity aiding in the process of thinking for solving problems
Effective written and verbal communications skills with strong competency in MS Office tools and project management applications
Travel occasionally to supervise work at other locations
Experience/ knowledge required
Master’s degree in Food Technology/Nutraceuticals or related discipline with over six years of experience in the QA department of a food or nutraceutical company.
Have relevant experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing
Have ample experience in implementing corrective/preventive measures
Must have knowledge of quality assurance tools and methodologies of quality assurance and standards
Certification programs in Six Sigma, food safety, quality improvement, or quality auditing would be an added advantage
Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
