The National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management – Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T) is inviting online applications for various temporary and time bound positions on a contract basis. The recruitment is open for Research Associates, Senior Research Fellows, Young Professionals, and Food Analysts.

Available Positions and Qualifications

Category I

1. Research Associate (RA)

• Vacancies: 1 (Director Secretariat)

• Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Agricultural Processing, Food Safety, Nutrition, Nanotechnology, or related fields.

  • OR Master’s degree in these fields with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree, 3 years of research experience, and at least one research paper in a reputed journal.

• Salary: ₹61,000 + HRA (Master’s) / ₹67,000 + HRA (Ph.D.)

2. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Vacancies: 4 (1 in Food Safety & Quality Assurance, 3 in Food Testing Laboratory)

• Qualification:

  • M.Tech/M.Sc./Ph.D. in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agricultural Processing, or related fields.

  • M.Sc. (3-year UG + 2-year PG) with 2 years of experience OR Ph.D. in the relevant area.

  • Desirable: FSSAI Junior Food Analyst/Food Analyst qualification.

• Salary: ₹42,000 + HRA

3. Young Professional (IT/Automation)

• Vacancies: 2

• Qualification:

  • BE/B.Tech in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields with 4 years’ experience OR MCA/MIT with 2 years’ experience.

  • Skills in ASP.NET, .NET Framework, SQL Server, Android development, and networking.

• Salary: ₹60,000 (Consolidated)

4. Young Professional (Technical Assistance)

• Vacancies: 2 (Registrar Secretariat – 1, COE Section – 1)

• Qualification:

  • M.Tech/M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Biotechnology, Dairy Technology, or related fields with 2 years’ experience OR Ph.D. in the same fields.

  • Good communication skills and computer knowledge.

• Salary: ₹60,000 (Consolidated)

5. Young Professional – Food Business Management

• Vacancies: 1

• Qualification:

  • PG in Food & Agribusiness Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Export Management, Sustainability, Economics, Rural Management, or related fields with 2 years’ experience OR Ph.D. in the same fields.

  • Good communication and computer skills.

• Salary: ₹60,000 (Consolidated)

Category II (Liaison Office – Guwahati Vacancies)

6. Food Analyst (Guwahati Liaison Office)

• Vacancies: 1

• Qualification:

  • Master’s in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields with 5 years’ relevant experience (including 2 years operating advanced lab equipment like GC-MS, FTIR, UHPLC).

  • Preference for candidates experienced in NABL accreditation or lab setup.

• Salary: ₹60,000 (Consolidated)

7. Senior Research Fellow – Guwahati

• Vacancies: 1

• Qualification: Same as SRF in Category I, with research experience in food-related fields.

• Salary: ₹42,000 + HRA

Age Limits

• RA: 40 years (men), 45 years (women)
• SRF: 35 years (men), 40 years (women)
• Young Professionals: Up to 45 years
• Food Analyst: Up to 52 years

Selection Process

• Shortlisted candidates will appear for a written test followed by an interview.
• Tests will be conducted in person at NIFTEM-T Thanjavur for Category I and at Guwahati Liaison Office for Category II.
