Japanese Researchers have developed a spoon that controls Salt.

Researchers in Japan have created an electronic spoon that can lower salt intake without sacrificing flavor.

It was created by researchers from Tokyo’s Meiji University and the Japanese drinks company Kirin.

For individuals who want to eat less sodium while still enjoying tasty meals, this invention is revolutionary.

A battery-powered spoon that makes food taste saltier is now in stores in Japan. It is called the Electric Salt Spoon.

How does it Work?

A very weak electric current is passed through the spoon, which creates a salty taste on the tongue. The current is too weak to be felt.

The spoon’s salty flavor is produced by some fascinating science.

Kirin, the company that has made the spoon, says the metal and plastic spoon can make sodium ions gather in a specific place on the tongue.

Foods tastes salty because of sodium.

Sodium is necessary for our bodies to function, but too much salt can have negative health effects.

Why is controlling Salt Necessary?

We need salt for good health. Excessive consumption of it, however, might result in cardiovascular disorders such as high blood pressure, strokes, and cardiac issues.

These are the main reasons for death on a worldwide scale.

Less than 5 grams of salt should be consumed daily, according to the World Health Organization.

What does it cost?

The Electric Salt Spoon costs 19,800 yen (around Rs 11,300). Within the next five years, Kirin intends to sell a million of them.

The person who designed the spoon has also made electric chopsticks. The following year, these will be sold.
