ITC has unveiled a new digital campaign spotlighting its Filo Series a breakthrough in eco-friendly food packaging and disposables. Developed by the Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division, the series addresses a key industry challenge: Can packaging be food safe, sustainable, and scalable? Filo answers with a resounding yes, offering a biodegradable, compostable, and grease-resistant solution made from food grade paperboard.
Built to Replace Plastics
Filo is designed to replace single-use plastic packaging without sacrificing performance. It combines food safety, recyclability, and grease resistance with environmental responsibility—supporting industries that aim to meet sustainability standards without compromise. Rajesh Ponnuru, Divisional Chief Executive of ITC’s Paperboards and Specialty Papers Business, highlighted the intent behind Filo: to develop food-safe, high-performance boards that are scalable and sustainable. He described Filo as a transformative solution—more than just a product guiding industries away from plastic dependency.
Vision 2030
The Filo Series is part of ITC’s larger sustainability strategy focused on circularity and innovation. ITC has remained plastic neutral for four consecutive years and adopted eco-friendly packaging across its entire FMCG portfolio. Its new moulded fibre facility in Madhya Pradesh further strengthens its sustainable capabilities at scale.
Looking ahead, ITC aims to maintain plastic neutrality and expand its portfolio of sustainable packaging solutions. These efforts support its broader environmental goals, including action on climate, water, and biodiversity.
Future-Ready Packaging
Filo reflects ITC’s commitment to delivering packaging that meets the demands of modern businesses and environmentally conscious consumers. It balances safety, scalability, and sustainability—offering a viable alternative as the world moves beyond plastic.
