Age Limit: 38 years (as on 1.01.2025 and the upper age is relaxable as per existing norms of AAU and Govt. of Assam for permanent in-service candidates.
Educational Qualifications
The following are the educational requirements for the assistant professor post at Assam Agricultural University:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in science or equivalent field.
- Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Dairy Technology, Post-Harvest Technology, or Agricultural Process Engineering (or an equivalent discipline) from a recognized Indian or foreign university, with at least 55% marks in total or a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or 7.00 on a 10-point scale are accepted.
- Candidates don’t need to clear NET if it isn’t held for their subject area.
- Those with a Ph.D. are also not required to have NET, as long as their doctorate was earned under UGC’s 2009 rules and they’ve published at least two research papers with a NAAS rating of 4 or more before the application deadline.
- To be called for an interview, candidates must score at least 48 out of 80 (for General) or 44 out of 80 (for SC/ST) as per the API-based PBAS system used by AAU.
General information
- Age relaxation for reserved category will be as per the norms of the Government of Assam.
- The candidates who are permanent residents of Assam should only apply for the posts of Assistant Professor or equivalent, which is per the university service rule/regulation.
- The percentage of disability for PWD candidates shall be as per the government norms.
- In-service candidates shall have to submit NOC from their parent Department/Organization.
Application Fee:
The application fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs 1000 (Non-refundable) and for SC/ST/PWD candidates is Rs 500.
