As the popularity of organic food continues to grow, the establishment of advanced laboratories dedicated to organic food testing becomes imperative. Organic food is produced without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals, making it essential to verify the organic integrity of food items. The newly established laboratory at Amul Fed Dairy plays a pivotal role in this verification process, employing a range of sophisticated testing methodologies and techniques.

The laboratory at Amul Fed Dairy employs state-of-the-art equipment such as Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS), Liquid Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS), and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). These advanced instruments enable the detection and quantification of organic compounds in food samples, including pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, mycotoxins, additives, and preservatives.

Consumer trust is crucial for the organic industry, and reliable testing results from organic testing laboratories play a vital role in building this trust. By upholding the integrity of organic products and ensuring adherence to national and international organic standards, the laboratory supports market demand for organic produce. This commitment benefits organic farmers, industry players, and public health, as consumers can have confidence in the organic claims backed by scientific evidence.

Guided by the vision of Amit Shah, Honorable Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Amul entered the organic business in May 2022 with the launch of Amul Organic Atta.
