Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Execution
1) Ensure that online product quality is monitored, and any errors are addressed quickly by production officers and CP management.
2) Ensure that finished goods are tested according to standard sampling and testing methods with proper documentation, and participate in regular product quality exercises.
3) Periodically verify process records, incoming quality check records, ingredient shelf-life records, and in-process quality check records.
4) Regularly verify the correct functioning of critical process equipment such as weighing balances, metal detectors, sifters, dividers, molders, ovens, slicers, and coders.
5) Ensure compliance with basic hygiene, food safety, and GMP requirements in manufacturing.
6) Ensure compliance with critical food safety processes at all times during manufacturing, including metal detection, pest control, conveyor condition, equipment cleanliness, sieves and magnets, personnel hygiene, and storage conditions.
7) Conduct training sessions for workers to raise awareness of quality standards, GMP, food safety, and hygiene.
8) Conduct regular audits of systems, processes, and the lab to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
9) Take immediate and appropriate action against issues related to process/system/norm violation, equipment malfunctioning, quality monitoring, food safety, and hygiene to prevent any negative impact on consumers and brand value.

Statutory Compliance
1) Ensure that wrappers are checked for correct addresses, MRP, veg logo, mandatory declarations, and necessary documentation.
2) Check sufficient samples for weight at every stage of production.
3) Take immediate action to correct any non-adherence before continuing.
4) Verify compliance to pack weights through random sampling regularly.
5) Do not release lots with underweight packs without 100% checking and sorting.
6) Ensure that the coder is functioning properly, with legible printing on each pack.
7) Follow systems during changes in date, shift, and supervisor’s name with necessary documentation.
8) Verify compliance with coding through random sampling regularly.
9) Calibrate all weighing balances and dead weights as per schedule and do not use them without necessary certification.
10) Expected Outcomes: Packs and products complying with statutory requirements
Consumer Complaints
1) Share all complaints with CP management, supervisors, operators, and shop floor workers as soon as they are received.
2) Identify probable causes of complaints in consultation with CP management, supervisors, operators, and workers.
3) Assist in designing corrective and preventive measures and implement them immediately.
4) Evaluate the effectiveness of actions through regular evaluation of processes and products.
5) Analyze all complaints in terms of category, SKU, extent, trend, etc., and share with CP management regularly to demonstrate improvement status and plan further actions.
6) Expected Outcomes: Reduction in number of complaints
Benchmarking
1) Visit retail outlets and distribution points weekly to understand customer and consumer quality concerns.
2) Evaluate competition products in terms of weight, packaging, product quality features, etc.
3) Identify improvement opportunities and share action plans with operations and quality for improvements.
4) Measure the effectiveness of improvements through market evaluation and customer feedback.
5)Expected Outcomes: Consistent and superior quality products
Process Improvement Initiatives
1) Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities in systems, processes, cost, and time in consultation with operations and quality.
2) Periodically review improvements in the overall quality of processes and systems at the factory.
Management Information System
1) Send periodic summary reports on factory quality performance to the quality manager.
2) Communicate critical quality and food safety concerns to the quality manager and all other concerned parties as soon as they are observed.
