The National Millet Summit 2023 will be held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore Campus on March 4 and 5, 2023.
In order to assist millet stakeholders around the nation, MoFPI-NIFTEM-T has organised promotional events and expos. In order to recognise the importance of the International Year of Millets in 2023, a number of events are planned to take place all around the nation. A National Millet Summit, the first of its type in a series, is being organised by NIFTEM, Thanjavur in collaboration with UAS, Bangalore.
The “National Millet Summit 2023 Series-I” will be held on March 4 and 5, 2023, at the UAS-Bengaluru campus, with the theme “Millets: Science, Technology, & Innovation.”
The summit focuses on important elements of the millet value chain, including technological developments, new product options for niche markets, interventions on the national nutrition mission, strategies for nurturing entrepreneurs, FPOs, and farmers, facilitating start-ups, skill promotion and employment generation, market and export promotion strategies, and sharing of successful entrepreneur cases.
A panel discussion on creating futuristic goals is proposed in addition to a series of lectures and exchanges. An exhibition showcasing advanced science, technology, and innovation is also suggested for the guests.
The summit will feature the following events:
- On March 4, 2023, there will be a one-day workshop with 2000 participants (a delegation of scientists, industrialists, FPOs, SHGs, and students).
- On March 4th and 5th, 2023, there will be a two-day expo with 200 stalls (private agencies, government departments, academic institutions, FPOs, SHGs, NGOs, and other stakeholders).
- B to B and B to C meetings and sharing of success tales on March 4 and 5, 2023.
