About the Role

The Product Development Lead will play a major role in shaping the future of DeHaat’s food brand, Honest Farms by DeHaat. This brand aims to deliver traceable, responsibly grown, and high quality produce directly to modern consumers. The role requires someone who can combine creativity, strong technical skills, and business understanding. The selected candidate will lead product development from idea generation to final launch.

Role Objective

Lead the entire product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
Build and manage an R&D center capable of developing 50–60 new products per year.
Launch 4–5 new products each quarter.
Ensure products are delicious, safe, scalable, and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Innovation & Strategy

Identify new food trends, consumer demands, and emerging technologies.
Build a strong product innovation pipeline.

2. End-to-End Development

Create product recipes, source ingredients, conduct sensory testing, and run pilot trials.
Ensure smooth transition from development to commercial production.

3. Cross-Department Collaboration

Work with Marketing, Sales, Operations, QA, and Supply Chain teams to meet business goals.

4. Quality & Technical Oversight

Ensure compliance with food safety standards like HACCP and GMP.
Maintain high-quality and regulatory standards during product development.

5. Project & Budget Management

Manage multiple projects at once.
Stick to timelines and budgets while keeping leadership updated.

6. Cost & Feasibility Analysis

Evaluate product cost, profitability, and manufacturing feasibility.

7. Market Research

Turn consumer insights and market data into actionable product ideas.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Educational Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.

Experience

10+ years of experience in product development within FMCG, food tech, or food & beverage industries.
Strong track record of launching products successfully.

Skills Needed

Technical: Food science, quality management, regulations, product formulation.
Leadership: Team management, strategic planning, collaboration.
