Licious is Hiring: Food Technologist in Bangalore

Licious is one of India’s leading fresh meat and seafood brands, is looking for a Food Technologist to join their team in Bangalore. This role is perfect for someone passionate about product innovation, meat processing, and creating consumer focused food products.

Who Can Apply?

  • Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or related areas.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in R&D of processed or packaged foods, FMCG, B2B ingredients, QSR, or D2C brands. Prior experience with meat based products will be an advantage.

What You’ll Do

1. New Product Development

  • Take products from idea to market, including prototyping, testing taste and texture, checking shelf life, and ensuring compliance with food safety rules.

2. Collaborating Across Teams

  • Work with marketing, operations, supply chain, and sales teams to turn consumer insights into innovative products.
  • Share product innovation stories clearly and effectively.

3. Improving Current Products

  • Enhance taste, nutrition, shelf life, or cost efficiency of existing products.
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI and international safety standards.

4. Applying Processing Knowledge

  • Use advanced food processing methods such as vacuum packing, pasteurisation, retort, IQF, hot-fill, and MAP.
  • Recommend the best processes for new product formats.

5. Working with Partners

  • Collaborate with suppliers for ingredient trials, new technologies, and cost optimisation.
  • Partner with chefs and panels to maintain authentic taste and practicality.

6. Sensory and Market Insights

  • Conduct sensory evaluations and structured feedback.
  • Stay updated with global protein and savory trends and adapt them for Indian consumers.

7. Scale Up and Manufacturing

  • Support manufacturing partners/CMOs during plant trials, troubleshooting, and scaling up production.

Key Skills Needed

  • Strong knowledge of formulations using proteins, stabilisers, fats, oils, seasonings, and flavors.
  • Familiarity with processing technologies (chilled, frozen, retort, shelf-stable) and packaging (MAP, vacuum, pouches).
  • Understanding of food safety regulations like FSSAI, HACCP, GMP.
  • Ability to balance culinary creativity with industrial feasibility.
  • Strong project management, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Consumer-focused and innovation-driven mindset.
