PAU Announces JRF Vacancy in Food Science & Technology

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the project “Use of Ultrasound Technologies for Extending Quality and Shelf Life of Whole Wheat-Based Products” (Misc-108, PC-5416). The research is being carried out at the TIET-TAU-PAU Centre of Excellence for Food Security (T2PCEFS). The appointment will be for six months or until the completion of the scheme, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following academic qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Requirement:
    B.Sc. (Agri) (Hons.), B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. Food Science & Technology, B.Tech. Food Technology, B.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics, or B.Sc. Life Science with a minimum OCPA of 6.00/10.00 or 60% marks.
  • Postgraduate Requirement:
    • Master’s in Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Technology (Processing Technology), or Food Processing Technology with at least OCPA 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.
    • With NET qualification: Fellowship of ₹37,000 + 16% HRA.
    • Without NET qualification: Fellowship of ₹26,000 + 16% HRA.
  • Ph.D. Holders:
    Candidates with a doctoral degree in the relevant discipline (minimum 6.50/10.00 OCPA or 65% marks) are eligible without NET.

  • Application forms are available in the Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, Ludhiana, on working days between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Applicants must submit the completed form along with:
    • A bank draft of ₹200 in favour of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana.
    • Attested copies of required certificates.
  • The last date to submit applications is September 15, 2025.
  • Incomplete applications or those missing documents will not be considered.

Interview Schedule

  • Date: September 23, 2025
  • Time: 11:00 AM
  • Venue: Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, Ludhiana
  • Candidates must bring their original documents at the time of the interview.
  • No separate interview call letters will be sent, and no TA/DA will be provided for attending.

Research Significance

This project focuses on the application of ultrasound technologies to enhance the quality and shelf life of whole wheat based products, addressing a key challenge in food processing and storage.
