CSIR-CFTRI Invites Applications for Senior Project Associate Position

The CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, a premier national laboratory under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), has announced openings for qualified candidates to join as Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT). The appointment will be on a purely temporary contractual basis under the project titled “Analytical Activities under Customer Service & RFL (TSP 56)”.

Position Details

  • Name of Post: Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT)
  • Number of Positions: 01
  • Stipend: ₹42,000 + HRA
  • Location: CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka
  • Duration: Initially one year, extendable depending on performance and project requirements

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

  • Option 1:
    • M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science & Technology, or equivalent,
    • With 3 years of experience or must be a Qualified Food Analyst.

OR

  • Option 2:
    • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in any branch of Life Sciences, Food Science & Nutrition, or equivalent,
    • With 2 years of R&D experience in academic, industrial, or scientific organizations, or must be a Qualified Food Analyst.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in food analysis, oils and fats research, and handling modern analytical instruments.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Preference for candidates with Qualified Food Analyst certification.

Age Limit and Relaxation

  • Maximum age: 35 years as on 30th August 2025.
  • Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Tenure and Conditions

  • Engagement is strictly temporary and co-terminus with the project or a maximum of 6 years of service in CSIR labs (whichever is earlier).
  • No claim for permanent employment in CSIR or its institutes will be entertained.
  • Candidates already employed in CSIR projects must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current Principal Investigator.
  • Engagement may be curtailed or extended based on performance and project requirements.

Selection Procedure

  • Shortlisting will be done by a screening committee based on qualifications, experience, and other criteria.
  • Methods of shortlisting may include:
    • Marks obtained in essential qualifications
    • Higher educational qualifications
    • Relevant work experience
    • Any other criteria deemed fit by the committee
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview (no TA/DA provided).
  • Final results and waitlisted candidates will be announced on the CFTRI website.
