Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (Essential)
Candidates must possess any of the following degrees from a recognized university or institute:
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Food Technology
OR - Post Graduate Diploma in Fruits Technology
Note: The required qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for candidates who are otherwise well qualified. Such relaxation will be officially recorded.
Age Limit
- General: Not exceeding 30 years
- OBC: Relaxation up to 33 years (for vacancies reserved for OBC)
- Central/U.T. Government Servants: Up to 5 years age relaxation
- Others: As per the rules stated in UPSC’s recruitment guidelines

Job Responsibilities

- Field visits to various MSMEs for technical inspection and advisory.
- Identifying and resolving production-related challenges in food-based industries.
- Advising on cost-effective and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Representing MSME interests in technical committees and inter-sectoral forums.
- Promoting modern food processing, value addition, and sustainability practices within MSMEs.
