Amazon India is actively seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Manager Food Safety to lead and expand its food safety and regulatory compliance programs across the India Operations network. Role Overview
As Senior Manager Food Safety – India Operations, you will own the development and oversight of food safety management strategies spanning Amazon’s Fulfillment Centres, Fresh and Quick Commerce sites, Collection Centres, and storage hubs (dry and wet). This role covers both first-party (1P) and third-party (3P) supply chains and demands cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Legal, Business, and Operations teams. This position is pivotal to Amazon’s next 1–2 years of growth, with responsibilities that include building scalable compliance systems, guiding regulatory engagements, managing food safety risks, and driving automation across food compliance workflows.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, execution, and governance of food safety programs across India’s Amazon Ops network.
- Ensure full compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, and global food safety standards throughout storage, handling, and delivery processes.
- Proactively engage with regulators, manage audits, and address food safety investigations.
- Oversee compliance metrics and foundational safety requirements including expiry management, temperature monitoring, pest control, and licensing adherence.
- Drive risk-based improvements, coordinate FOSTAC training, and create effective visual management tools for site-level compliance.
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to build automated quality management systems and real-time compliance dashboards.
- Collaborate with industry experts, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership to align safety goals with business expansion.
Qualifications Required
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Food Science/Technology or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in food safety across varied operations (including Quick Commerce and 3P/1P environments).
- Minimum 5 years of multi-category food safety management
- 3+ years of regulatory contact experience and proactive compliance engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Certified Lead Auditor (e.g., FSSC 22000 v6 or equivalent).
- Experience in fast-paced, tech-enabled grocery or e-commerce platforms.
