2 New Banana Varieties Unveiled by NRCB.

The National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) in Tiruchi is celebrating its 30th foundation day. They have exciting plans for this year – introducing two new types of bananas. These bananas are named Kaveri Kanchan and Kaveri Vaman.

Kaveri Kanchan is a special kind of banana that you can eat without cooking it first. Normally, a banana called Nendran needs to be cooked before eating. But Kaveri Kanchan can be enjoyed fresh, like a dessert. It will also give more bananas compared to the Nendran type.

Kaveri Vaman is a unique kind of banana that’s been created with the help of science. It’s a smaller version of a banana called Grand Naine. This special banana is strong enough to survive bad weather like heavy rain and cyclones.

At the event, important people spoke about different things. They talked about using technology to help farmers grow better bananas. They also mentioned how important it is to make bananas good quality instead of just making a lot of them.

There was also a special fair called Kisan Mela. At the fair, farmers could learn about new ways to grow bananas using phones, sensors, and even drones. They also had a discussion about how technology and the internet can help with farming. In the event, there was also an exhibition showing many types of bananas from different places.

So, the National Research Centre for Banana is doing cool things to make bananas better and help farmers do their job even better.
